Group Business Controller - Sales (m/f/d)

Rosenheim, Deutschland
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

With us, you don't just report the numbers as Group Business Controller – Sales (m/f/d) – you actively shape the business. At the heart of your work is transparency: across the entire Lead-to-Order- and order-to-cash process, across national borders, and across a decentrally grown system and process landscape. As a business partner to Sales, Finance, Operations, and Group Management, you bring people and figures together – while also becoming one of the key business owners of our group-wide HubSpot roll-out.
In short: this role is for people who want to build structures, influence decisions, and genuinely drive the digitalization of commercial controlling.

Process & Transparency Management
  • Across the entire lead-to-order and order-to-cash process, you create transparency and ensure that every relevant steering metric along the commercial value chain becomes measurable.
  • Revenue, volume, and margin trends stay firmly on your radar, and you make the group's key value drivers visible.
  • Central commercial KPIs in the sales environment – such as DSO – are something you steer and monitor continuously.
Contribution Margin & Profitability Management
  • At customer, product, project, and tender level, you develop a clear picture of contribution margins and lay the foundation for data-driven sales and pricing decisions.
  • Where business destroys value and where high-margin models are hidden, you spot it systematically – and translate it into concrete recommendations for action.
  • The profitability of tenders, projects, and framework agreements is something you assess with real depth, and the controlling of our major projects rests in your hands.
Forecasting & Business Cases
  • Drawing on CRM, ERP, and financial data, you build integrated forecast models and deliver reliable projections for order intake, revenue, margins, production utilization, and demand planning.
  • With scenario analyses and business cases, you give the sales strategy a solid basis for decision-making.
  • In budget planning, you play an active part and accompany the monthly variance analyses and performance reviews.
CRM, Systems & Data Governance
  • As a key business owner, you drive the group-wide HubSpot implementation and turn the CRM into a genuine steering instrument for lead, opportunity, and pipeline management, forecasting, and demand planning – far beyond a mere database.
  • Across an internationally heterogeneous ERP and system landscape, you harmonize sales metrics, reporting structures, and data models.
  • When it comes to master data, KPI definitions, and reporting structures, you establish consistent standards across the entire group.
  • Consistent commercial KPIs are something you define for the whole group – and you make sure they are applied consistently across all entities.
Reporting, Digitalization & Business Partnering
  • Management-relevant reports and KPI dashboards are yours to define, continuously develop, and present in a way that every audience understands.
  • The digitalization of commercial controlling is something you push forward with determination, actively shaping modern reporting, CRM, and BI landscapes.
  • As a sparring partner to Sales, Finance, Operations, and Group Management, you help make data-driven decisions that sustainably improve profitability.
  • In market and competitor analyses, you get involved and provide valuable impulses for the strategic direction of Sales.

Your profile

 Experience & Seniority
  • You have successfully completed a degree with a focus on controlling/finance – or bring a comparable qualification.
  • In commercial or sales controlling, you bring several years of relevant experience, ideally with an international dimension and in an industrial environment (such as infrastructure, energy, or industrial manufacturing).
  • Decentralized structures that have grown inorganically – for instance through acquisitions – with a fragmented process and system landscape are familiar territory for you.
  • You bring genuine cold-start capability: where structures and standards don't yet exist, you build them. A background in a PE- or family-office environment is a plus.
Professional Competencies
  • Modern CRM systems – ideally HubSpot – are second nature to you, and you understand them as a central steering instrument rather than a mere sales database.
  • International CRM roll-outs are something you have already accompanied or substantially driven forward.
  • In ERP consolidation and in building group-wide reporting standards, you are right at home.
  • Master data management, sales analytics, and pricing analytics are all part of your repertoire.
  • In project controlling as well as in forecasting and demand planning, you move with confidence.
  • With Excel and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, you work with ease; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • B2B business models and the lead-to-order and order-to-cash processes are something you understand in depth.
  • Business-fluent German and English round off your profile.
Personality
  • A strong drive to shape and build defines you – combined with excellent communication skills as well as persuasiveness and assertiveness.
  • Even without disciplinary authority, you win people over: you establish standards through influence, not hierarchy.
  • The differing interests of international local entities are something you bring together, jointly developing viable solutions that you then also put into practice.
  • Strong process understanding goes hand in hand for you with analytical excellence and a healthy dose of pragmatism.
  • Breaking down complexity until it becomes a management-ready basis for decisions is one of your strengths.
  • Working independently and solution-oriented, with high quality standards and strong interface competence, comes naturally to you.
