Group Business Controller - Operations (m/f/d)

Rosenheim, Deutschland
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

This position is deliberately positioned at group level – with a genuine mandate to shape. As Group Business Controller – Operations (m/f/d), you report directly to [CFO / Head of Group Controlling] and take on the task of bringing together a control landscape that has grown unevenly across sites and countries into a robust, comparable controlling logic.
In short: here you don't just monitor KPIs – you define how the entire group will steer its operational value chain in future, from plan-to-product through demand-to-supply to purchase-to-pay. For experienced controllers who want to shape rather than administer, this is one of the most exciting roles in an industrial environment.
  • Shaping & Harmonization (the core of the role)
    • Across multiple sites and countries, you bring inconsistent systems, processes, and metrics together into a robust, group-wide comparable steering logic.
    • You establish group-wide standards for the operational processes plan-to-product, demand-to-supply, and purchase-to-pay – and make sure they are truly lived in the production entities.
    • The monitoring and steering of central working capital metrics such as DIH and DPO rests firmly in your hands.
  • Steering & Analysis
    • Operational KPIs – particularly around productivity, OEE, cost, and on-time delivery – are yours to define, monitor, and analyze, and from them you derive well-founded recommendations for management.
    • In product and project cost calculation, you create transparency around the key cost drivers of operational value creation.
    • Reports and plan-actual comparisons are something you prepare so that every audience can draw the right conclusions.
  • Investments, Planning & Programs
    • Profitability and investment analyses (CapEx) are yours to own, providing a reliable basis for investment decisions.
    • Business cases are something you develop and evaluate on your own responsibility – from the first idea to the decision proposal.
    • In production, capacity, and cost planning, as well as in forecasting for operations and supply chain, you play an active part.
    • Operational improvement and efficiency programs are something you accompany, ensuring their sustainable implementation.
  • Business Partnering & Digitalization
    • As a sparring partner, you support plant management and the operations functions and accompany central steering processes.
    • The further development of controlling tools, dashboards, and data processes is something you push forward with determination, shaping a modern, digital controlling landscape.

Your profile

What matters most to us
  • Several years of relevant experience (5+ years) in the controlling of a manufacturing company – with a clear focus on operational steering and performance measurement.
  • Experience in internationally positioned, decentralized and inorganically grown structures with a fragmented process and system landscape – and the ability to establish standards there without disciplinary authority, together with the local entities.
  • Genuine cold-start capability: where processes and standards don't yet exist, you build them. A background in a PE- or family-office environment is a plus.
  • Deep process understanding along plan-to-product, demand-to-supply, and purchase-to-pay.
Professional Competencies
  • You have successfully completed a degree with a focus on controlling, operations management, or a comparable qualification.
  • You are confident in creating and evaluating business cases and analyze economic interrelationships with real depth.
  • In product and project cost calculation as well as in steering DIH and DPO, you bring practical experience.
  • Ideally, you have already contributed to the further development or redesign of controlling processes and KPIs.
  • You work confidently with Excel; experience with ERP systems and analytics tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
  • B2B business models combined with industrial manufacturing are something you understand in depth.
  • Business-fluent German and English round off your profile.
Personality
  • A strong drive to shape and build defines you – combined with excellent communication skills as well as persuasiveness and assertiveness.
  • Even without disciplinary authority, you win people over: you establish standards through influence, not hierarchy.
  • The differing interests of international production entities are something you bring together, jointly developing viable solutions.
  • You combine analytical excellence with a healthy dose of pragmatism and the ability to distill complexity into management-ready decision bases.
  • Working independently, solution-oriented, and with strong interface competence comes naturally to you.
